Hmmmm.

That's possibly a little high (but it depends upon how much memory your laptop has got). Which antivirus program are you using? (The reason I ask is that some are prone to getting stuck in a loop when they try to update. That results in everything on your computer getting slowed down considerably).

kaspersky if that is what you mean.
I would delete kaspersky and download avg free antivirus, as its less obtrusive to your online activity

^^^ I too would be concerned that Kaspersky might be slowing things down. (It used to have a good reputation but I've read several posts recently about it causing problems). However, unlike Tamborine, I wouldn't recommend AVG. (It's another one which used to be good but is now known to slow computers to a crawl). Avast is currently the most popular anti-virus solution around here:

Try disabling the web anti-virus component of Kaspersky temporarily and trying a post here to see if the black box problem disappears:
