Thanks again for your responses to my earlier question. Does anyone out there know about getting from Madrid airport to the city centre? Is there a shuttle bus which goes from the airport to the city centre? We will be arriving at the airport at about 2.00 pm local time, but would be grateful for a bit of information about how to get from the airport to the hotel on our arrival, please. Many thanks, chox.

Many thanks Cap'n. Looks like a great source of information, appreciate your help. Cheers, Chox.
The Metro is by far the easiest way to get into central Madrid. It's modern, clean, fast and air-conditioned.
I got the taxi in and
then the underground out
( for erm money reasons )

very good rail network
I got the overground to Complutum - you know where the complutensian bible comes from. from Atocha I think
now called Alcala de henares. Most northerly Muslim town in Ethpanya - so how come Charles martel beat the crap out of them at Roncevalles ? much further north

anyway that was why they blew it up apparently

I think I looked at goya's countess of cinchon
and went out there
Cinchon - there is in fact nothng there

and Philip II granite monstrosity the escorial

have phun !
Just take the metro from the airport to wherever you want to be in the city centre - it's dead easy and cheap.
