Thank you for that but alas, living in a deprived neighbourhood I am miles away from any branch of Waitrose.
How can a neighbourhood be described as 'deprived' when it has you to brighten it up, JD33?
You're a smooth talker!
If it helps at all, ('cos I don't actually know why OB posted), Tesco's deli counter also sells Gala Pie at 70p per 100g.

Morrison's have a half-price offer on their large Pork & Egg Pies:

Might give that a go next time I'm in Morrison's.

Buenchico,
I posted this as jackdaw said (in reply to my Pork Pie post) that they preferred gala pie. What a lot of pie I have opened up! LOL
What is the difference between Gala pie and pork and egg pie ?
Question Author
As far as I can see baza,Gala Pie is just a posh name for Pork & Egg Pie.Waitrose hedges their bets by calling theirs Pork & Egg Gala Pie,quite where the Gala bit came from I cannot see.It all eats the same!
My butcher used to sell slices from a large pie, he then switched to pre wrapped which tasted rather bland.

I have made a GalaPie in the past,it was delicious, but probably not worth the effort!.LOL
