In what way is it running slowly? Have you done a speed check?

A different router is unlikely to make any difference. Is it everything on your computer which is slow or just internet access? As Hc4361 asks, have you checked the download speed you're getting?

I have done a speed on the router It is just above one I have had the computer checked in the shop and it is ok speedwise on their infinity broadband system we are not getting infinity in my road for the foreseeable future thanks for your help
Keep the pressure up on BT, regarding Infinity !
It's a wonder with your speed that you can actually get onto the Internet. A download speed of less that 5.00Mbps is really poor.

Hans.
What speed did you used to get? What speed are you supposed to be getting?

Connect your laptop to the router by ethernet cable and test the speed again.
If you get a decent speed with an Ethernet cable but a lousy one with a wireless connection, the first thing to do is to ensure that your router isn't next to any other electrical equipment. (That can make a BIG difference to download speeds).

Then try changing the channel on your router

If that doesn't work, try resetting the TCP/IP stack on your laptop. (Tell us which version of Windows you're using, so that we can provide you with instructions).
