With fulsome apologies for the delay to all of you who answered and cared, I'll try again. Ever since I was in hospital last year and a regime of horribly strong anti-biotics which screwed up my internal plumbing, as it were - as well as my head - I've been troubled by tummy/gut problems and wondered if there was any good stuff out there, for no matter what I eat, I always have tummy/gut probs since then. That's why I asked about yoghurts and their effectiveness or if anything else would do. Oh, I forgot to say that I no longer take those damned anti-bios. I'll stop now and hope I can send this and it gets to where I want it to. Many Thanks to All out there in AB land and it's nice to know there's some great people out there; Chris, Sunny Dave Mamya L-I King and everyone who cared if I managed this new AB layout; I can't get to the bit where your names are, cos I might mess this up as far as it's got, but A Great Big Huge TA!...Ta Muchly.

Hi Terry

I had a similar (but less serious) problem after a heavy-duty antibiotic treatment.

I was recommended these pro-biotic pills & they sorted me out in a couple of weeks :

Dave
Drat - hit 'send' too early - was about to say that they are out of stock at Amazon, but available here :

And again ... they've mysteriously gone 'out of stock' as soon as I actually tried to 'add to basket' ...

These look very similar though

I am in the same boat, I had Alflorex recommended to me, not cured but much much better.
"I've been troubled by tummy/gut problems "

Bit thin on details woodelf. Diarrhea?, constipation? colicky pains? and finally for what reason were you in hospital last year?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to answer, but here goes. Sqad, after hospital though still taking those horrific antibios, I couldn't go far without the loo, nasty, but now I'm not taking the antibios, I still have massive blasts of flatullence, though not the nasty "brown" sorry stuff. I had two strokes caused by ten, yes ten, abcesses on the brain, transferred to famous unit at Southampton, before returning to local hospital and massive physio regime. Many Thanks too to Dave and Ubasses, just in case I didn't manage to reply - quite tiring this new AB layout!
my OH swears by acidophilus, so it's worth a try.
