Hi Abers as some of you may know from past postings of mine, i'm on the verge of having to go onto insulin but am on tablet/diet controlled, having to take injections of Liraglutide for my diabetes. I've been advised by my diabetic nurse to go on a carb free (& no sugar obviously) diet but i'm sooo hungry, i've been eating lots of veg and fruit but need some ideas of food that will fill me up...................any ideas please?

I'd say protein and good fats...have things like cooked chicken or hard boiled eggs for snacking. Base your meals on the same....not too many carby veg (carrots, parsnips, etc) but have leafy greens. Add some good fats like nuts, seeds and avocado. Limit fruit to berries...they are the lowest in sugar. Diabetes UK has a low carb forum...lots of advice there....

Diabetes UK has a low carb forum...lots of advice there. It will become easier as your body learns to rely on fat/protein for energy rather than carbs.
