I have a Vauxhall Corsa design 2004. I went to get petrol today and found my automatic key fob not working. It is rather worn and battered, in fact the black plastic has come off leaving a hole. I can still lock the car with the key fob and open the doors using the key. However, I cannot open the petrol cap as it is controlled by the fob. Apart from forcing it open, anyone have any ideas what to do. I shall obviously have to replace the fob but I need to travel this weekend

The video showed that one turn of the key in the driver's door opened the door but not the petrol flap - a second turn of the key opened the flap.

Thank you chiaroscuro, you have no idea how grateful I am to you. I could not watch the utube link, it said error, but I went to the car and did exactly what it said and it worked. Thank you soooo much, my mums 91st birthday this weekend and a three hour car journey to get there. Bit difficult with no petrol. Not sure how you mark best answer but your is the big cheese
You are very welcome, ff. If you get a new key one press of the fob opens the door and two presses opens everything else. Have a nice time at your Mum's - drive safely!
