I'm a member of a local google group. Whenever I receive an email from one particular person within the group, it goes into my Spam folder; this doesn't happen with messages sent from anyone else within the group. I've tried marking it as Not Spam, and also adding the particular name to my Contacts list, but it's still happening. Using PC, Windows 7 and Chrome. Any suggestions, please?

Are you using a web-based email service (where you access you mail via your web browser)? If so, which one?

. . . or are you using a dedicated email client (such as Outlook Express, Thunderbird, Windows Live Mail, etc)? Again, which one?

I use a shortcut via Google Chrome. It's BT broadband.
In my Yahoo/BT Mail there is a button(at the top) which says "Not Spam" if I click this future mails from this person will not go into the Spam Folder.Of course your mail provider may not have this?
If you look at your email address, what comes after the @ sign?

For example, since you mention Google groups, is it gmail.com? Or, since you mention BT, is it btconnect.com? Or is it something else?
Your email provider appears to be labelling the messages as spam based upon criteria other than the ones which you can control from your computer.

I'm guessing that the relevant group member has an IP address which has previously been associated with spam and now all email coming from that address is likely to be labelled as such.

If so, the only solution would seem to be to get the person to change their IP address. All they would normally need to do to achieve that would be to disconnect their router from their phone line, wait one minute and then reconnect it.

Thanks, everyone. I use the Not Spam button every time, but it's made no difference, OldBather. The email address is googlegroups.com, Ellipsis. I'll ask her if she will change the IP address, Buenchico; I think you're almost certainly right, as I suspect I must have left that individual box checked when I was marking others as Spam; but I'd hoped that Not Spam would have reversed it. Nothing so simple, obviously!

That's the from address. I meant what's your email address? Not all of it, that would be a bad idea to publish ... just the bit after the @ sign.

Oh sorry, I misunderstood. Also sorry because I don't want to give even that much, as I'm still getting a lot of appalling emails -fewer than before, thanks to good advice given here previously - and don't want to wake up those again.
