Recorded Delivery And Normal Post Or Just Recorded?

I am sending a letter to a tradesman that did some work for me a year ago that I have had ongoing issues with.

In November I said that I would get the item replaced and he would have to foot the bill etc.

I now have the bill (I've paid it) so expect reimbursement from him.

I have said that if he does not pay within 14 days I will take action to recover it through the small claims court.

Should I just send it by recorded deliver or send it normal post as well?

Thanks

'Recorded Delivery' has been re-named to 'Signed For'. That's what you need to use (and nothing more).

Sent signed for this afternoon.

I don't hold out much hope for a speedy resolution but I can live in hope.
if you have no response in14 days contact trading standards they will guide you through small claims court application..did you state a response was required in 14 days ?
If the debt is £600 or more , and he does not pay up and you get a county court judgement and he still does not pay up ; then the CC judgement can be transferred to the High court for enforcement , subject to a few conditions .

Bailiffs will be involved at the CC stage - High court enforcement officers will be involved at the High court stage .

The big difference is that HCE officers have more powers than bailiffs
Recorded so it needs to be signed for
lol islay, did you read the other answers?
It doesn't NEED to be signed for, it can also be ignored.

He picked the letter up on Friday and I got an email today saying he wasn't going to pay.

Inevitable really. Although he likes to come across as all matey and 'I'm not out to con anyone' (his words) that is eaxactly how he is acting. Out to con me.

Do they have offices or do you have to phone them or something?
