Hi Anyone on here diabetic type 2? Just wondered if any of you are on Tresiba insulin or Victoza which is an injection to basically help lose weight, I have been on Victoza for about 18 months and apart from going off coffee (which I used to drink by the gallon) and off some foods, I have not lost any weight TIA

I read, on the internet, that it only 'may' help weight loss in higher doses...over 1.8 mg. Himself has Type 2 diabetes and is now considered barely diabetic (if that makes sense - as his readings are low). He has lost lots of weight over the last year or so but this is as a result of decreasing his food and alcohol intake and upping his general exercise level ( not going to the gym etc). Hope that goes some way to answering your question.
I am only on pills at present Chessy.....Metformin and Glicazide.
Are you taking in less calories chessy?
I am a little confused here........Tresiba and or Victoza...have little or nothing to do with weight loss.
What makes you think that they have?

I'm a reasonably fit Type 2, 65 year old, I did take Metformin for a while, now stopped. Condition is controlled by Diet and Exercise, needs a bit of effort but well worth it. I'm on one Blood test a year atm, due next week as it happens.
Good Luck.
hc....thanks for that.......hadn't appreciated it's alleged use.

thanks for replies, the nurse said the victoza is meant to help with weight loss, not lost much in over a year, tresiba is helping alot to lower blood sugar readings though
