with the cleaning out.

OH went home and I dived straight into Dad's room, began to clear out the rest of mum's old clothes out my wardrobe and sorted it into keep, charity and recycle.
Chucked a load of old smellies too. Found the portable DVD charger which I have been looking for, for at least 6 months.
Mum must have thought that linens like sheets and towels were going to stop or something I have boxes and boxes and 2 other cupboards full of them to sort through...next on my list.
Plan is tomorrow to try and move some bits around and some of my things in to the wardrobe so I can get rid of the dodgy chest of drawers in my room.

Even dad came to see if I needed a hand with anything and he began with the can we chuck this and that.

The only thing we can't decide is what to do with the dress my mum wore to her brother's wedding when she was a bridesmaid. Neither of us like it, its very dated so a charity shop is out the question...any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I'm away for a chill before bed

Well done with the sorting out, queenie. Could you make something else out of the old bridesmaid dress ?.
Perhaps a theatrical group could make use of the dress for a costume?
Well done. :)
Keep it, I'll bet mum felt lovely in it at the wedding.

I'd love to be able to make something with it Tony, but its not a nice material and I'm not a dress maker. OH's mum on the other hand is.

I thought the same thing Jourdain! Great minds :)

I've kept her wedding dress Anne, but i don't want to keep this it takes up too much space if I'm honest. I also got the impression that mum didn't like the dress much anyway.
I kept my wedding dress to remind me of when I was a size 10
I've kept my wedding dress, can't find the veil though . maybe someone took it home as a momentous at the reception.!!!!!
