Hi there, I am writing on behalf of my friend.. My friend is a council tenant for 31 years now, and only a couple of years ago decided to put her partner on the tenancy. Her relationship has now come to an end and she is so worried. Although she realises legally he will have as much rights as she has to stay in the house, but he wont leave or remove himself from the tenancy and does not know what to do going forward or for the future. She certainly doesnt want to lose the house..Any advice that may help or reassure her would be very much appreciated. Thank you x

Shelter are very good on all aspects of housing and tenancy matters - they will point your friend in the right direction I'm sure.
