I've replaced my iPad Air with an Air2 so the old one won't be much in use. Apart from keeping it charged and other common sense things (it has battery problems) is there anything else I should be doing with it?

Don't leave it plugged in 24/7 Charge it to 100% (plus a couple of hours for good luck) - then let it subside down to 10% or so & then recharge again. Occasionally update all the apps - otherwise, if you do happen to need it, something may not work.

How bizarre. Why keep it charged if you're not using it?
Because iPads don't like being left 'flat' for weeks on end - they tend to not want to charge up again if needed.
Ok. why keep it at all if you're not using it.
Sell it on EBay and make some money.

I want to keep it because maybe hubby will show interest some day so he can play with it before buying it, then I'll give it to one of the grandchildren.

Thanks Dave. Yours was meant to be best answer but I coughed (have a bad cold) and my finger went to the wrong name.
I hear it's traditional nowerdays to give old ipads to sticky fingered grandchildren :)
