Vehicle Identification Number (Vin)

Can anybody make me clear in understanding VIN of a car? I did understand but partially.. i could not figure out which manufacturing company is from a single letter like F for Ford, while H states Lamborghini as a manufacturer. There are many single letters which denotes manufacturer and i am really unknown about it. Can anyone make me clear in this ?

The first link explains what each group of numbers/letters mean. Eg, country, model etc.
