Why do they never include anyone born, died or married in Scotland?
Have been trying for hours to trace a friend's family for her, but nothing in Scotland. Infuriating.
Thanks

Have you tried library sites?

Which area are you looking for?
Because Scotland has always had an independent BMD registration system.
Try Scotland's People.....unfortunately, it's not free but the information contained on each certificate is so much better than that on English/Welsh versions.
That's unfortunate.
Maybe suggest they start one, and offer to cover a couple of years data recording yourself ?

Try library sites first.

Our library has a local heritage site.

Thanks.
Yes our library does too, I just thought I could find out something instead of waiting for Monday.
I agree with jackthe hat.
I use Scotland's People all the time(I have Scottish Ancestry).
Like many such sites you pay for Credits, and use them up as you search,so you are not ties to an annual membership.
As Scotland's People's records are smaller than England's(due to the smaller population,in many cases you can read the certificates On~Line,(which you can't for England)and not pay large sums for sometimes information that you didn't want,or information that was incorrect to you.
