While I have no objection at all for women being football pundits and commentators, also extensive coverage of women's football. Does anyone else find it a bit contrived that this has suddenly happened after all the years of being only men?

/// Although women are a million miles being men when it comes to playing football ... they should still be allowed to talk about it. ///

Try stopping women from talking full stop, now that's a challenge for anyone. :0)
I don't think Eccles irony klaxon could have been any louder!!

Of course if the BBC has made an effort to recruit more women, then the obvious suspicion is that they were hired because they were women and not because they were the best candidate. There is always this suspicion when any public body tries to force the issue, same with wanting to hire more back people.
Why bother sticking to the OP when we can derail it into talking about race?
Just so long as Claire Balding doesn't muscle in on the football shows - she's in everything else
surely that was the only way it was ever going to happen? The alternative being yet more years of only men?
