Update on Peugeot 207 electric power steering not working at low revs. I have found that if you rev the engine a few times to around 2500 revs before attempting to move - then the power steering kicks in straightaway - so it looks like Togo's analysis was correct. It doesn't like very low revs - maybe it will need a new electric steering pump ?

It's making me wonder if you have an alternator problem. It sounds like it's not kicking in as soon as it should - it might be worth putting a voltmeter across you battery and seeing what goes on when you start the engine.
