It doesn't bother me in the slightest as there are no children or grandchildren when I'm watching the box, but do you think that Corrie is getting a bit cheeky for 7.30pm ?
Tonight Tracey was inviting Luke to go to bed with her after flashing herself to him in the garage and Sally and Tim were rushing off 'to do it'.
Just wondered what your thoughts are on this.

I think that catch up tv effectively canned the watershed.
Remember Bet Lynch in her negligee with Jack Duckworth? Or Deirdre in bed with Dev.... Or the huge billboard of naked Dev... Deirdre and Mike romping.... Rosie in the basque? Corrie has always had its saucy moments
I don't think we do actually - all the goings on in Corrie lately - the vicar snogging Todd etc and as you say Tracey etc.
Surely Rosie in the basque trying to seduce Stape was more shocking - and Toyah's rape scenes were horrific. And all the murders over the years.
That's very true

I know that in the past, certain soaps, (including Corrie) have been shown later in the evening because of the content, but I just think that the makers of some of these programmes are forgetting that children might be watching and asking Mum and Dad why Tracy was flashing her knickers and bra to Luke, in the garage.
Well Barsel it's up to parents to monitor their children's viewing as Corrie isn't really for children is it, and I like it the way it is.
I think even worse is the increasing amount of violence and downright nastiness. The writers/producers seem to be of the opinion that if its not sex or violence then nobody will want to watch. I think this year's I'm a Celebrity... disproved that theory. Yes, I know it's fatuous TV viewing but I enjoy it. This year instead of the usual bickering and b**ching, everyone got on like a house on fire and it was SO enjoyable to see.

While on the subject of violence, why is it acceptable on these soaps for a woman to give a bloke a good thrashing, but never the other way?
AOG I don't think it is!
And what about Emmerdale, those scenes of those women leering at and rubbing oil into those male strippers bodies.

Would scenes of female strippers be allowed at such an early time, and wouldn't the men be described as "those leering dirty old man mac brigade"?
Most kids today are clued up and surely one or two of you behave like Tim & Sally, nudge nudge wink wink!!

/// AOG I don't think it is! ///

Ah! but it does, almost on a regular basis. a slap across the face, a direct punch to the face or that old stand by, a knee in the crotch.
AOG my reply "I don't think it is" means no, I don't think it is acceptable! You asked "why is it acceptable....... "

Please read what you addressed to me.
Not sure whether I dozed off. Before Luke started setting fire to the garage, the lads were trying to encourage Kevin to leave the back seat of the car & he refused then when the fire was raging Kevin was standing outside. I didn't see him leave.
AOG, Corrie did a very disturbing storyline of domestic violence where the victim was a man. This is one of the scenes:
I was watching an episode of Doc Martin last night .

He arrived home to find this 15 year old in his bed waiting for him
Yes hc I remember that very well. AOG asked why is acceptable to show violence by a woman towards a man. I answered I don't think it is (acceptable). My opinion is that there is TOO much violence shown on the soaps BEFORE the watershed.

I wasn't inferring that it was acceptable to you, but acceptable for the story writers to include such violence against men in their script writing.
