Touch Light

I have a light in the kitchen to switch on all you need to do is to touch the Base and the same to turn off ,I recently changed the Light Bulb to try and sort the problem but the Light switches on and off all by itself,any ideas how to overcome this issue thank you

Could be the moisture in the air from boiling pans affecting it.
Try a different bulb.
Have you replaced a tungsten/halogen bulb with a low-energy one? Some electronically-switched devices don't like low-power bulbs. As an example, we have a fluorescent light in the kitchen with a security switch; it's necessary to have an adaptor across the terminals of the tube or it won't work. We have a similar switch on the lounge lights and when I replaced the tungsten bulbs with low-energy the light began to flash.
