I am having to take large tablets, can anyone advise as to a method of taking such tablets without almost choking! Was thinking honey, vaseline, anyone think of something really slippery that could help? Thanks.

I can sympathise, dj as on large tablets and capsules as well after ulcer endoscopy procedure in hospital....So, if tablets, and not capsules, just break them in half.....easier to swallow... Good luck.:-)
You swallow food, so just tell yourself you are eating. Wash it down with water.
I hold the tablet between my teeth and take a large drink of water and swallow altogether with my head held back. Usually works for me.
In hospital, people are offered yoghurt or jam or custardy pudding to get pills down. Its a bit disgusting but i find large pills are much easier to swallow with a mouthful of well chewed food. Be carful about breaking tablets, some of them are coated to keep the tablet from dissolving in the wrong place. Another option would be to buy a crusher, but check if you are allowed to crush them for the dame reasons as breaking. If all else fails, many meds are available in a liquid format, you’d need to talk to the doc.
Tablet in, water in, chin on chest and swallow. No problem.
A good trick, it works for me. Roll your tongue back touching roof of mouth as far back as you can with the tip of tongue. Do this 2-3 times before swallowing with water. Good luck.
