Whilst watching I player with earphones I lost sound. A message popped up to say audio disconnected. The earphones however were still plugged in. I have been to device manager and although I cannot see the earphones listed It tells me that the computer is ok for audio. It may be coincidence but in trying to see if my earphones are at fault I have tried to listen to U-tube and bbc news clips and they don't play not just audio but do not start. Any ideas.
I am using Windows 10.

Step 1: Turn it off, wait a minute, and turn it on again. (It's amazing how often that works!) Step 2: Try playing a CD. If there's no sound you probably need to reinstall the driver. Have you nothing else you can try the earphones in donny? Portable radio, TV, cellphone etc
Step 1: Turn it off, wait a minute, and turn it on again. (It's amazing how often that works!)

Step 2: Try playing a CD. If there's no sound you probably need to reinstall the driver. If you do get sound then it's likely to be a problem with Adobe Flash Player.

Step 3: Reinstall the driver, or Flash, as appropriate. If you need help with the sound driver, please tell us the make and model of your computer. If it's Adobe Flash that you need to reinstall . . .
(i) go to your list of installed programs and remove all references to 'Adobe Flash' ;
(ii) restart your computer. (That's important!) ;
(iii) go here: https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
(iii) deselect the 'optional offers', click 'Install Now' and follow any instructions you see.

Reinstall Adobe Flash Player then, Donny, as per my instructions above.

I have searched and although I know that I had flash installed I can find no trace of it

Every thing now works perfectly,Buenchico, so it was flash. I could find no trace of the original program so just installed a new one. I know I had it installed so I don't know what happened.
Thank you.
I'm glad that you've got it sorted, Donny.
