We are going to replace carpets as we have holes made by carpet moths. If I spray thoroughly with fly spray before putting new carpets down, will this do the trick? Flat is tenanted, empty at moment, when furniture left we noticed the moth holes in carpets!!

I am no expert so I urge you to seek professional advice before going to the expense of new carpets and presumably, underlay. Without proper treatment to eradicate moths, the problem could persist and I don't think fly spray is the answer. Good luck.
as above....fly spray is NOT an answer. It's for killing flying insects...the damage done by carpet moths is down to their larvae.
Wholly man-made fibre carpets (not that pleasant, I know) would not be attacked by your pests, though!
