Indeed there are, but when you have to wait 3 weeks for a GP appointment when you know all you need is some antibiotics prescribed it's no wonder people attend A&E unnecessarily.
I turned my left ankle on 2/12.. I knew it was a very bad sprain,, but not broken. I applied the RICE protocol and borrowed a stick. No reason to bother A & E (turns out that I damaged 2 tendons) people need to be rather more self-reliant.
Not everyone is from Yorkshire tho Jourdain.
More's the pity Z-M - would solve a lot of problems! :)

Not everyone has confidence to diagnose themselves correctly. There should be more limp-in surgeries to take that part of the accident burden off of A&E.
We have minor injuries units, walk in GP and health centres, urgent care centres and pharmacies (all in the plural, some open 7 days a week) in my area. No need to go to A&E unless it is a real emergency and certainly not for antibiotics.

HC4631 it would be wonderful to have all those facilities but, you won't find them here on the NHS I'm afraid.
