I am thinking about transferring money from the uk to spain, i´ve had a look at my bank´s website, and it appears to be not too complicated. there´s obviously a small charge. I am just wondering on your views, is it safe? would it be best to do it physically from my uk bank?
thanx in advance

I do it all the time, online, as I'm sure do thousands of others.

Be very careful - the UK bank will take no reponsibilty (nor should they) if you get the foreign bank details wrong.

Always do a trial transaction first - transfer a small amount and check that it has arrived and been cleared by the receiving bank - before any large payments are made.

Different banks charge wildly different fees - shop around - or even use a third party service.

I have used XE.com several times - very simple, very quick and very good rates of exchange :

I use Transferwise, once set up it is safe, quick and much cheaper than any other method.

Piggy....I have done it many times and it is simple and safe. If it is only small amounts, say let's say less than £5,000 then there will be a charge but it is worth it to avoid the hassle.
