It's a dreadful situation and it makes me very sad to read about it.

The world my grandchildren know will be a poorer one, elephants poached for ivory, now beautiful giraffes in danger
Look at the effort humans have put into saving the Panda and the Panda seems to be doing everything that it possibly can to avoid breeding.

People want to save cute or cuddly animals. The Giraffe doesn't really fit into either category - apart from when they are babies. Maybe the decline can be slowed down but, ideally, we need to change our actions and our insatiable desire for more and more land.

The way things are going the human race will eradicate itself in the not so distant future.

I've read your link and it doesn't seem that giraffes are in imminent peril. Whilst their numbers are decreasing in some areas, they're increasing in others.
