Cost Of 0800 Calls

Does anybody know how much it costs the company when someone makes a "freephone" call to it? eg, does it cost them x pence or x pence connection + y pence per minute or does the company pay £x a year and there is no further cost after that?

It differs a lot. Someone are paying per minute, someone are buying monthly/yearly subscription
