I have four very orange pine chairs. I stripped one with a hand sander but it took so long and the sander is a bit brutal to be honest. Any suggestions as to how I can make things easier and quicker?

I would check if there is one of these firms in your area:-

Nitromors is your friend on this job. On the intricate bits use coarse steel wool and on the flat bits a scraper. Best of luck, it ain't a nice job. Wear gloves and some goggles and a long sleeved shirt.
Depends what you want them to look like. I restrained my pine bedroom furniture to an oak colour. All I did was sand down with sanding paper and stained with a cloth.
LoL @ having to restrain your bedroom furniture :-)
I have all sorts of pictures going through my head at the mo!!

You can get them 'dipped' as you do with doors a lot quicker but obviously more money.
Lol...I'm on the kindle....
Do you have to have them stripped back?

If it's just the colour you want to change you could paint them with chalk paint, it's on trend at the moment and comes in lots of lovely shades from pastels to bolds if you're brave enough.
There is a liquid sander on the market, I think it's by Polycel. I haven't used it but seen it on a friend's table.
