No I haven't had that operation and i don't suffer from acid regurgitation.
So the tablets are not working eh?
To save me a lot of typing, Google:
Nissan Fundoplication, if you haven't already...this operation is done by keyhole surgery.
Sorry...typo...Nissen.
I'm under a consultant at the moment for the exact same thing. Gastroscopy last week and one of those horrible 24 hour hp tests due to be done in mid Dec. Good luck
Smudge .. I know it's getting away from your question, but can I pick your brain. As you have been on Omprazole for so long. Did you find it caused any problems like chest infections.
Why I ask is my wife has also been on it for a few years and she had a chest infection almost every month for almost a year. She has stopped taking the Omprazole and the infecions have also stopped ? We know she should be taking the medication but she is fed up with the side effects.

Alavahalf no i haven't had any problems with chest infections.
my husband had the nissen fundoplication done around 10 years ago. He immediately felt better when he woke up, and has not had a re-occurence of his symptoms (although it has loosened over time - he can now be sick, and burp, both of which were tricky at the beginning)
