Gloss Paint On Carpet

My son got white gloss paint on his carpet when decorating months ago. I've had a guy in today to professionally clean it and it hasn't come out which I'm not only surprised about but not impressed. He says he's used everything he's got but it won't budge. Is there anything else I can try as a last resort?? Even a home remedy

I've been googling it too and didn't realise just how hard it was to remove. I just assumed a professional would be able to.

Obviously the paint has dried on your carpet now so this may not work!! Did the carpet cleaner tell you he could remove the paint?

Was it a lot? For small mishaps I've often resorted to cutting out the top of the pile with nail scissors...

I told him before he arrived that there was some paint on the carpet and he said ok, but seems it's been there too long. And the pile is far too short to cut.

What colour is it? If it's small areas, maybe a dye? Or failing that a small rug that contrasts with carpet? So annoying for you. Kids!!

I'd give it a go with swarfega. Leave it for some time after applying, then wash off with warm water. If that fails you could try nitromors, however, you could knacker the carpet.

Will try anything. And have just noticed he's failed to remove some spots of blue emulsion too.

Emulsion usually comes out reasonably easiiy. Stain Devil do one for gloss paint, worth a try.

Oh dear .... Nitromors on a short pile carpet (Synthetic).

If you have gone ahead and tried this you will already know what happens.

For the hole now in your carpet I would recommend a rug !
