I'd like to by my son this for Xmas. It's used on ebay as I can't afford a new one. It says it relies on a subscription for updates. Is there a way of ginseng out if I'll still be able to subscribe?
Thank you

Sorry-using my stupid phone. Obviously i meant 'is there a way of finding out?'
I would have thought that you could use it on the original non-updated database. It'd just gradually get out if date, but over a decade or two how much hassle would that cause ?

I see. He would have to be able to rely on it I suppose.
Thanks
Cris once your son has the sat nav all he has to do is register with Tom Tom with the model and his details and believe me he will be offered updates. It is then up to him whether to buy in to the full on email offers and prompts.
The last update price I had, before I bought an free updates for life model, was £20 for a year ie. four updates.

That's brilliant! Thank you!
i`d be inclined to stretch the budget a little more for a new one. The model you mention is up to 6 years old and going for around 40. A new one with free maps and updates for the Uk and Europe is 79 at Currys.
