What a wonderful turnout for them. How sad though, goodbye Walnut.
"Now...go give your own pooches and moggies a cuddle". Great sentiment pasta
And the best part is that Walnut knows nothing other than he's off on his favourite walk - pity all dogs can't go the same way.
I read this yesterday and it had me in tears and when I saw how many turned up today I cried buckets all over again.
What a lovely send off, Bye Walnut.x
I try not to read posts like this as I'm a big softie and love dogs and this sort of thing always brings a lump to my throat.
How wonderful to be surrounded by so much love at the end. Wish I could have been there. Run free Walnut x

This is too sad for me, reminds me too much of my lost and much missed dogs. Wish I could cuddle them.
Clarion what you say is true but what you must remember is that sadly pet owners and Pet Lovers aren't always the same thing.

I cannot help but think if the dog was so poor that he warranted being put to sleep any delay was only going to cause distress or suffering. The poor dog was just hanging in his arms, he obviously wasn't enjoying it. Why not organise the walk in his memory, not make him suffer just to give the owner closure. Its a sad thing we all have to face unless they die at home in their sleep and I truly believe its a decision we must make and take without delay in the interests of the animal.
Pasta...I saw the headline for this on the Beeb website but I just bare to watch it.
I saw this posted on my Facebook.....OMG....what dedication the owner had...how stoic was it to post it to ask people to come on that 'last walk'. Animals are part of the family and to think one has to plan their death is horrendous BUT for kindness. I am a wuss where animals are concerned....I can't watch some Tv progs because of what might be shown. This poor guy making the decision..(been there..done that) so I know it's heart wrenching. At least the care and kindness shown to the beautiful dog is apparent...even if soul destroying. What a wonderful 'send off' and how some peeps would wish similar on their loved ones of the human kind...because they CARE!
I must say I questioned how much Walnut 'enjoyed' this. No doubt at all that his owner loved him but was this more for himself than for his dog?
