//Shadow education secretary Angela Rayner said there is already a national shortage of foster families and despite an advertisement campaign it is a constant struggle to find more….Local authorities are understood to be bracing themselves for even more demand on services when some of the children coming to the UK under the Dublin regulations are unable to live with family members because their accommodation is unsuitable.//

If their accommodation is unsuitable and they are unable or unwilling to rent/buy a more suitable residence, then they ought not be a reason for further family members to come here. Fostering is a ridiculous idea since the justification was for the child to join their family. Perhaps they can go join the child/other family members instead ?

That was my understanding too.
I've got a son approaching 17 so I couldn't envisage giving a home to someone older than him if I'm honest......
just a point of pedantry -

the "Dublin Regulation" is the EU law that determines which Member State is responsible to examine an application for asylum, when seeking international protection under the Geneva Convention, etc etc etc, signed in Dublin (hence its name)

the "Dubs Amendment" is the amendment to UK immigration legislation pertaining to unaccompanied child refugees. named for the originator, Lord Alf Dubs (and not as a contraction of the word "Dublin", pertaining to the EU law).
NO.

Surely the only 'suitable' homes for most of these illegals would be a muslim based one. So how many are they housing?
> Local authorities are understood to be bracing themselves for even more demand on services when some of the children coming to the UK...

That will be those predominantly in the north-east and north-west then...
I really hope that in their haste to home these children that they do not overlook their usual fierce vetting and put some of these poor kids in the homes of monsters.
Are any of these 'child migrants' female?
One kind lady said she would take in a 'child' what she got was a man of 26 who scared the living daylights out of her.

We were told we were to old when we were 46.
I have a friend who is fifty nine and she started fostering two years ago. Perhaps it depends on the fostering agency.
//put some of these poor kids in the homes of monsters.//

And let's hope no monsters are put in the homes of British poor kids.

It's already been suggested.

You would think that they would be falling over themselves to take them in, so as to radicalise them?

Is this near enough?

I'll take a little girl, aged 5 or thereabouts, and that's it. Oh, by the way, she'll have to come to church with me.
