Had one of these this morning as urgent appointment. I am due in hospital Monday morning and the operation would have been cancelled if I didn't have one.
I was a bit disconcerted at the appointment. The procedure was done by a nice young man about 25-30. Very efficient and friendly. But! I was naked to the waist with a front opening gown, not done up. There was no nurse in attendance. Seeing as he was all over my chest and boobs I felt uncomfortable.
He didn't do anything wrong in fact he behaved perfectly. But I felt as though someone else should have been present. What do you think?

I agree Jo, I would have thought he should have asked .

It seems to me that it would be a pity to take up two people's time to do just one task. Surely you weren't surprised that the test involved uncovering your chest and being touched?
I imagine you presumed there would be someone else in attendance, in future better to request a chaperone in advance.

Best wishes with your forthcoming procedure Caran.x
Just ask for a female nurse if you feel at all uncomfortable.

I was surprised to get an appointment on a Saturday morning, I didn't know they did things like that. The hospital seemed a bit deserted, no reception available so maybe on skeleton staff. It was the first time I had had an appointment without a nurse present. I was also surprised at how much it hurt. He used an awful lot of pressure on my chest and I feel bruised.
It's obviously unsettled you and of course you're apprehensive anyway - just know you are one step nearer things being sorted.

Lots of appointments at weekends now.
I've popped a message in to ask if the team can move this to 'Body & Soul' Caran.

That's probably it Mamya.

Sorry I didn't realise I had put this in crosswords. Could someone move it to CB please.
It may have to wait till tomorrow, I asked for Body & Soul rather than CB.

Thanks Mamya.
They usually ask if you want a chaperone for things like that. Perhaps they were short-staffed?
Personally, I never ask for one. I trust my doctor, but I think they are meant to ask anyway.
I agree Jo, I would have thought he should have asked .
I had one of these recently. Mr c stayed with me. I was more embarrassed about the doc being so young.
We are all getting older and the doctors and policemen are getting younger, sorry you felt uncomfortable but the lad was only doing his job. Hope all goes well on Monday.
Definitely thought he should have asked Caran, and will be warning my daughter, as she is having one soon.

What's the procedure are you having, if its not to personal to ask?
