What version of Windows do you have? Try opening it in your local library maybe?
I use Libre Office
Or you can spend a small fortune on the latest MS Office suite. They may even have a free viewer if you check their site. Just guessing.
Just to mention I tried a number of times to get the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack to work with my 2003 Office suite and it never did.

Thanks, but I don't have time. I will just have to read it on line. Trust IPSOS-MORI to send me something I can't bloody open !
That's a Microsoft Word doc mikey (with macros disabled)
Most readers can handle Word docs though ...
How are you trying to open it?

Are you trying to open it directly from your email? If so, try saving it to your hard drive first and then opening it from there.
I thought docx were perfectly ordinary word documents written in Word 2003. What error message are you getting?
Question Author
Actually....I may have a mistake here ! I can open it but I want to print it out, so I can carry it around with me in my briefcase.

So, after I open it, how can I print the bloody thing ? If I right-click on the body of the text, and use print. it just prints out the body of the email, not the attachment !
Question Author
OK....I have now managed to print it out !

Thanks !
2003 used .doc

.docx is fairly new (and I get the impression other office type suite creators aren't that impressed with it).
I have several docx files in my files. Sorry to say 2003, they are all Word 2007 so not new.
You need to print it from Word or whichever word processing program you used.
The XML .docx format came in with 2007, which is less than a decade old ;-)
