Interviewer: "Do you think New York State should recognise gay marriage?"

Hillary: "No!"

She should come and stand for election in Brighton, lol.

To give Hillary credit where due, at least she is consistent ... (she will consistently lie about her true beliefs if she thinks it will win more votes)

Afraid not, but I am not all bad, you can have the ribbon, providing that I can place it around your neck.
And to think that some people are always complaining about personal attacks on here
I was not asking you if you had a badge AOG. :)

Are there badges available?

That sounds jolly.

Perhaps one could have a little badge icon beside one's avatar?
OP

Hillary The Champion Of Equal Rights

90%+ Of this thread is deflective rubbish.
Why? ... because it seems Hillary's defamatory comments are once again being ignored

but Trump this
but Trump that
but Trump
Trump ... Trump ... ad infinitum
Talbot. I don't support HC. But out of the two candidates she is the better choice .
A time you ask a question has a bearing on the answer a politician will give you.
Ask any British politician in 1960 whether homosexuality should be criminal, and most would say it should. Ask them again fourteen years later, and the majority would say it shouldn't. In those intervening years it was decriminalised.

The difference between Clinton changing her mind since 2002 is because New York state legalise same sex marriage in 2011. She would not support it in 2002 because it was illegal. Politicians cannot be seen to be endorsing an illegal cause.

do you think New York state should regognise gay marriage?

Hillary Clinton
No!

anneasquith shows her disgust .... ''That's a recent clip . LOL''

And yet starts a thread on a comment made 11 years ago by Trump.

yeah ok.
Question Author
// politicians cannot be seen to be endorsing an illegal cause //

Surely on that basis, there would never be any changes in the law.

To change the law, politicians have to support a position that is contrary to the existing law.

JJ
But canny politicians get elected first, and then make changes they want. There was no public vote on the law change in New York, or it probably wouldn't have happened.
So Gromit ... you think Hillary said she was against same sex marriage as part of a cunning plan?
No.
She is a lawyer. She would not want to support something which was then illegal. Even when it was passed into law, several Democrat representatives voted against the Bill ((and some Republicans voted for it).
Gromit
No.
She is a lawyer.

And that makes sense ... how?
//She is a lawyer. She would not want to support something which was then illegal. //

That's nonsense. Lawyer or not, there was nothing stopping her saying that in her opinion gay marriage should be legalised if that's what she thought..... but she didn't think that.
Naomi
I seem to remember that back in 2002 you thought Tony Blair was the bee knees. People change their opinions in 14 years.
Gromit, In 1997 I thought he was pretty good, but by 2002 experience taught me that he was a liar and that I was mistaken. Unlike Hillary’s, his reputation didn’t precede him.
