This has been discussed many time in the past, and nothing ever gets done.

My Son was a Nurse at Kings College Hospital, and he used to tell me that there were lots of patients who came over for a holiday to the UK, for free & better treatment on the NHS..

The NHS needs to be more pro-active in sending out bills for treatment.....and ensuring that they are settled.
Not before time, it is the NHS and not the WHS.
\\\ who came over for a holiday to the UK, for free & better treatment on the NHS.. \\\\

Free...maybe , but not necessarily better depending upon from which country they had departed...mainly third world.

Some countries don't send bills - they demand a credit card up front. That's something we should consider.
Well, health tourism will always be , so long as NHS treatment remains free at the point of delivery
and from the article

"The trust says the Government is also working on new rules to ensure charges for overseas patients are enforced as clawing back money after treatment can take months and leads to only a small proportion of costs being recovered."

which just about says it all

Anyone coming from another country should have to pay a deposit before being treated.Billing them later would probably lead to them leaving the country without paying.
