ihate all this "instant reporting"
that article is basically saying nothing, dressed up as something, and must be utter hell for his family.
ps wolf i do not mean you :) i mean media outlets
I don't have a good feeling about this.
surely in this case thugh mikey, any news is "good" news?
it sounds ridic but i for one will be pleased if they find his body
I think you have a valid point wolf63.

The voracious appetite for news created by the twin ever-open mouths of the internet and rolling news means that the media is constantly looking for something to report even when - as in this case - there is nothing concrete to advise.

In human interest cases like this one, it must be seriously difficult for the family involved, as you confirm in your post.

It does not show a good side of news reporting.
Bednobs....don't get me wrong....it would also be fine with me if they found his body. But this is only the latest in a series of investigations, and I just don't feel confident at all, as to a good outcome.
Hmmm,
How is finding bat DNA a breakthough?

Bednobs -I would prefer if they would say nothing until something is found. I didn't read the story but I raced over to AB as I knew it is a story of great interest to some on AB.

It is heartbreaking thinking of what may have happened to the youngster, I did think they were genuine news about what happened to him I don't like that kind of speculative reporting, I can't imagine what the family must be going through.
of course animals decompose too it doesn't say its human decomposition
Well the investigators are passing information on to the reporters that are swarming around the area so it`s understandable that snippets are going to be reported in the press
