I think it is the top one. You can either watch it on your lappy/pc if you dont have a smart tv or if you are very very clever you can plug your lappy into your tv with an HDMI cable and watch it on the big screen.

Thanks Danny, I know that much, but with it wants to go into iplayer and it takes ages. What's the difference between "catchup" and "on demand"?

Catch up means you can watch programmes that have broadcast recently.

On demand is Virgin's selection of programmes that you can watch whenever you want, assuming you are on the right plan, some for free and some have a charge.

Virgin accesses it Catch Up features online so it can be incredibly slow and clunky . (Hopefully the new boxes that are being launched soon will stop this)

Assuming your box is a Tivo you can access catch up via the onscreen tv guide. Open the guide, select the channel and use the back arrow to go back to the day the show was broadcast. Then use the guide as normal - select the show and press 'ok'. This will only work on programmes that display an icon on the guide. Later Live does.

Be patient. If the programme won't open call Virgin.

Have found him....receding hairline + specs. It comes to us all, eh?

hc, I am not wasting money on it, I know how to use it, but am irritated when they use "the" as a word in programme lists. As a librarian I know this is wrong.
