talktalk offerring this -

https://sales.talktalk.co.uk/buy/your-package/fibrebroadband

but i dont know the difference between mbs and MS ping etc.
First of all put your postcode in here and see what speed you get with another provider:
https://www.uswitch.com/broadband/local/belfast/

Reboot your router to see if that helps. Phone Virgin if it doesn't and get them to test the line.

If Virgin can't put it right you can cancel within 14 days of the new contract (from yesterday).

thanks HC4

virgin offer up to 100 mbs speed approx £440 a yr
talk talk offer up to 17 mbs speed approx £220 a year
sky offer up to 17 mbs speed at £220 year also...

since i watch youtube and bbc iplayer on a large android tv then i think i may be better off staying with virgin ?
Have you put your postcode in that link I posted? You might find BT can offer 75 Mbps in your area.

Do you get your phone with Virgin? I get 200 Mbps, phone line with weekend calls and XL tv for £50 a month
Your upload speed and ping are okay, but for some reason your download speed is dire.
I'm with VM, also on a 50Mb/s broadband and my results are:
upload 2.86 Mb/s
download 25.56 Mb/s
ping 162 ms.

As hc suggested, I'd reboot your router and if that doesn't help, phone VM (have the speed test results at hand) and inform them that you may have a fault and see if they can help :)

speed test today -

Ping - Download - Upload
81 ms 9.47 Mb/s 3.46 Mb/s

is that reasonable for £30.00 a month. i cant even watch youtube vids now they take forever to load, is this a ploy by virgin for me to upgrade ?
Have you rebooted your router and phoned VM?
Question Author
yea, called virgin, rebooted , now getting 54mbs download speed.

thanks
