And what makes you think they have any desire to come here?

Have we now reached a point where we can pick any story about any (alleged) criminal from around the world and post a thread saying, "We don't want them here?"

I see a logic failure there.
sp, //And what makes you think they have any desire to come here? //

They are here. They're in Europe. Why do you want them here?
Presumably there are lots of native UK citizens you'd rather not be here too naomi.
And native Europeans too
fiction-factory, indeed but we can do nothing about those. Why do you want foreign criminals here?
We don't but we don't know they are going to be criminals just as we don't stop people having babies just because someone in their family might have had a criminal past.
We all agree we don't want savages here- but these people are here. What do you suggest we do about other potential savages from abroad?
fiction-factory, These are not ‘potential savages'. They have committed a crime and will hopefully be deported.

Currently we have no idea who we're letting in, and as it often turns out, we discover too late that some already have a criminal record in their countries of origin. We need proper checks in place to weed them out - and entry should be refused. No one should be given the benefit of the doubt.
You have a great art of ignoring or twisting what I say. I said "What do you suggest we do about other potential savages from abroad " so your response of "These are not ‘potential savages'. They have committed a crime and will hopefully be deported" is not relevant and just states something we both agree on but you are perhaps trying to give the impression I would disagree..
We probably all agree that better checks should be made but I have no idea how we improve that and I am not sure anyone knows- are you referring to the ones who come through passport control into Europe or the ones who get here by unofficial roots and apply for asylum or those who just come in and disappear into the system?
fiction-factory, I haven’t ignored or twisted anything you said. I answered your question in my second paragraph.

//are you referring to the ones who come through passport control into Europe or the ones who get here by unofficial roots and apply for asylum or those who just come in and disappear into the system?//

I’m referring to all of them – well, all those we know about, obviously. We can hardly do checks on those who sneak in and who we don’t know about.
I've already said I agree we should do checks where we can, naomi. I note you are happy to let African migrants in provided we have done thorough checks.
But I would be interested to see your ideas on what more could be done. Very few fly into Europe and come through passport control, but I'm sure there could be a holding area or maybe there should be visa application checks before they come. But i doubt many savages come via this route so I would be interested to know how you think they could be weeded out and sent back (where?)
naomi24

They are not here.

They are in Ibiza.

Look at AOG's question again. When he refers to 'our shores' what do you think he means?

C'mon - surely you know he's referring to UK shores.

I think you should acknowledge that naomi24 has painted herself into a corner and now isn't making any sense.

Notice how like AOG last week (with the Sikh blokes), she has decided that they are guilty already.

I wouldn't bother any more. There's no point arguing with someone who changes the parameters of the point being discussed.

naomi24 has decided that these are migrants, that they are heading here and that they are guilty.

Impossible to argue with someone who has decided all these things...literally impossible.
sp - that is exactly the reason why I decline to debate with Naomi and her posts aimed at me are ignored.
fiction-factory, //But I would be interested to see your ideas on what more could be done.//

How about turning boats coming out of North Africa and carrying, in the main economic migrants, back? Is that a reasonable suggestion?

SP, I painted myself into a corner? How so?

andy-hughes, // that is exactly the reason why I decline to debate with Naomi and her posts aimed at me are ignored.//

That isn’t the reason you ignore me – and you know it. You never did answer that awkward question … you know, the one I asked you just before you decided not to speak to me again. .;o)

/// That statement could be construed as idiotic, because nowhere on this thread has anyone actually indicated support of these men. ///

Really then what about the rest of your sympathetic statement towards these savages?

/// Right now, all we're going on is the statement of one of the men involved in the brawl. For all we know he could be lying through his front teeth. It's possible that no jewellery was stolen and he's trying to pull a fast one for
insurance. ///

That's right blame the white man, couldn't possibly be the black man's fault now could it?

sp, //naomi24 has decided that these are migrants, that they are heading here and that they are guilty. //

I've just re-read your post and I'd like to take issue with that^. I do think they are migrants, as opposed to your suggestion that they may be holidaymakers, I do think they are guilty, but I've made no suggestion that they are heading here. Accusing people of saying things they haven't said is silly. Everyone here can read.
>How about turning boats coming out of North Africa and carrying, in the main economic migrants, back? Is that a reasonable suggestion?

Thank you for confirming you agree with something I've said before on here.

But that's not really 'weeding out' savages is it. And I am not aware that these particular alleged savages (the ones you have already decided are guilty) came across in this way.

AOG- I think you have misread sp's post or are twisting it again. He didn't blame the white man. He made the point that although some on here and on the Mail forum have found these migrants guilty already we may need to wait awhile to get all the facts about whether they are found guilty and where they were from and how they got to Ibiza

fiction-factory, It would weed out your 'potential savages' - at least from that source anyway.

Do you not think the men arrested are probably guilty then?
