My mum died in August and within 3 weeks my brother put her house up for sale, the house was left to me, my brother and my sister. Probate has not gone through. Is this wise to put up a house for sale without probate finalised. Thank you.

It is quite common to do so. The sale can't complete though until probate is granted.
Also the property has to be valued for inheritance tax purposes (which may not be the same as the sale price).
No problem, we had MIL's house on the market before she died (she had gone into care home), we just let the buyer know we had to wait for Probate to complete when she died and they were happy to wait.
