Can anyone please give me a step by step guide on how to back up photographs on my android phone, to the cloud ?

When i open the 'gallery' app on my phone , it opens two folders - one says 'camera roll ' and the other says 'Whatsapp images'

I dont know - how do I check ?
Bazile, I've had a thought. Log in to Google Photos on your pc. Your photos may already be in there

Ah Yes - if i open the photos app the photos are there and when i load up a photo - i get a little icon , which when i tap it then gives me the oppurtunity to back up using mobile data . ( i assume it's best to use wi-fi to do the back up )

I mean on your pc, not your phone.

When i log into google photos on a pc , it asks for my email address .

Would that be the 'gmail ' address which was set up on my mobile , when i first set up the mobile ?

Sorry if i am being a thick here
Yes indeed. And it should also be the email address of your Google Drive and all other Google accounts

Thanks - i cant remember my account at the moment - i'll search for it when i get home - i wrote it down somewhere .

So , if the photos are there - does that mean they are already backed up ?
Yes, mine back up automatically and have done since day 1. I don't remember doing anything in particular.
