We are in Crete for two more weeks, husband needs to make appt with a specific doctor for a couple of days after we get home.He uses the systmonline, we are trying now as you can only book appts 2 weeks ahead, but we cannot get into it, is it because we are in Crete or is it just slow wi fi, everything we want to do on line is okay , just this, any ideas please. There is a pc in reception would we be better using that ?

Try the pc in reception and see if it helps.
I hadn't no end of trouble with Systemonline when my surgery started using it and I only live half a mile away from the surgery.

I think the "system" is very overprotective, (probably a good thing) and might be playing up because of your wifi address, being a strange one. Just a thought.

Thank you both, we shall try the pc in reception, failing that it could be an expensive phone call.
Calls from abroad, using mobile phones, generally don't cost much these days. For example Vodafone only charges me 4p per minute when calling from Europe (despite being on a PAYG tariff, using my phone for emergencies only, which charges me 30p per minute in the UK).

I suspect that the doctor's appointments system is configured to only accept internet traffic with an IP address based in the UK. To get into it from abroad you'd need to use a VPN which routes your web traffic via a UK proxy server. You've not said which device you're using (Windows laptop? Android phone? etc) but this freebie is popular with users of Windows computers:
