For those of you who have a pet dog, if/when it poops in your garden, what do you do with it when you've picked it up?
We had a golden retriever sixteen years ago and for the life of us we can't remember what we did with it. As we're getting a new pup it seems a good idea to find out in advance how to dispose of its poop in an environmentally friendly and considerate way.
Thanks.

I put it in a bag and then in the dog poo bin, which is just across the road.
I sometimes wonder what happens to all the bins loads of dog poo the council must have to deal with.
You can even buy flushable poop bags now.
As I feed my dog raw minced food only, his poos are small and compact so I pick them up with toilet roll and drop them down the loo.
My Daughter's dogs are the same, a raw diet and small poops and not many of them either.
Double wrapped and in the bin for household waste
The answer to the question of where the dog poo bins are emptied is simple - the bags are put in the bin lorry same as the rest of the unrecyclable waste! Just bag it and bin it, I use big dog food sacks so i put it in a nappy bag then into the food sack and once a week put that into the wheelie bin.
A good tip is to keep a bucket in the garden with a carrier bag in and every few poos tie it up and put it in the bin.
