My assumption is that 'our own' is a reference to British people of all races and not (as others may have inferred) white people.

There's nothing in the question that relates to race.

AOG, I'm not offended - simply perplexed. Why did you write 'our own'?
Clearly it is no way to treat any 85 year old whether one of our own or not.
Both age and race are irrelevant here. If he had collapsed anywhere else an ambulance would have been called and he would have been treated.
