Locusts, are you serious? I'm not going to apologise to god for having my child. Firstly, because god doesn't exist, and also because he is loved by everyone he meets.
baza
I spent some time talking with a couple of Elders and although they were quite pleasant there was an undertone.

Did they tell you any true confessions?

Locusts,
The bit about no one will talk to you if you leave is from the article, not something I am stating. My comment was 'so what' if you leave, you leave.

// JWs dont expect to go to heaven that is completely false. //
Not completely false. They believe that heaven has a limited capacity of 144,000 but they do not believe it is yet full. They think only true believers (ie, JWs) go to heaven, so good people in the world who are not JWs are automatically excluded.
cloverjo@ Thats is your choice. But whatever at the end of the day you, and everyone on this earth, is accountable to God whether or not they believe he exists. I dont say apologise for the child, because the scriptures tell us that children areaa ablessing from God. What is meant is the actions that bring about your child.
Gromit@ I apologise for the mistake. Yes 144000 go to heaven, but the number is made up. But not all are their yet. In heaven. What we dont know is how many actually left on earth.
Locusts, a self acknowledged expert on jehovahs witness, why whenever somebody writes about jw's being unpleasant, you give the same reason as goodlife and that is, it cannot be a jw? are you so brainwashed that you believe jw's can do no wrong? You follow the Bible, Millions of people have done that for centuries, why did jw's arrogantly rewrite it, was the word of God not good enough for you?
Locusts,

It's all made up.
Vulcan42,
For decades the JWs used the King James translation of the Bible. They also have used several other versions. But they decided, probably rightly, that the archaic language used in that, and other versions was hampering learning. So they made a modern translation from the original greek and hebrew text, but cut the stuff that is now nonsensical. In otherwords, they put it into every day, common language (English version).

So 'Moab is' not 'my washpot' in their teanslation.
Vulcan//are you so brainwashed that you believe jw's can do no wrong? You follow the Bible, //

I am not saying JWs are perfect none people are. But 99% of JWs will try not to do wrong things. Those JWs who do not/want to stick with Bible principles will not be JWs. Some times people say they JWs but they not. Maybe just having a bible study.
Locusts – “... No one is forced to give money to JWs...”

Maybe not “forced” but certainly coerced. I admit there is a difference but when all said and done, the object (and expected result) is to extract money from individuals whether they like it or not.

Locusts – “... [When she told them that she could no longer give them any more money they dropped her completely.] That I cannot believe. Sorry. Are you absolutely sure this was JWs.?”

Yes, I am sure they were JWs. Just because you apparently cannot believe it doesn't mean that it didn't happen. JWs are not immune from being cruel and callous.

Locusts – “... [She was told that she wasn't welcome at the Kingdom Hall and that she should stay away.] JWs would never tell anyone to stay away from Kingdom Hall...”

Wrong. That is what they told her and that is what they essentially enforced. She did attend afterwards but was ostracised by all.

Locusts – “... [Since she has become terminally ill, I've leave it to the readers to guess just how many of these scum-bags have since contacted her and/or visited] Again I cant believe this...”

It would appear that your incredulity knows no bounds. You are clearly a hand-wringing apologists for the JWs. Like many other religious types, you find it literally unbelievable that someone who shares your faith can be unpleasant and even cruel. Do yourself a favour and get your head out of the sand. Religious faiths of all denominations are made up a fallible human individuals who all share the herding mentality. They parrot what they are told as if it is an unassailable truth and defend their faith and its adherents regardless of factual evidence, logic or reason.

The scepticism and denial with which you have addressed the sad and lamentable story of my Grandmother's interaction with the JWs just goes to show how deeply this pathological reflex is with the faithful.
Can't help smiling at the fact that 'locusts' is one of the ten plagues.
^ :-)
Locusts in past posts has appeared to be very confused about his beliefs but since, if I've read this thread right, he seems to have a strange attitude towards procreation too I can only assume he's still confused.

Gromit, //// JWs dont expect to go to heaven that is completely false. ////
//Not completely false. They believe that heaven has a limited capacity of 144,000 but they do not believe it is yet full. They think only true believers (ie, JWs) go to heaven, so good people in the world who are not JWs are automatically excluded.//

True that entry into heaven is allegedly limited, but JW’s ‘know’ who among them have a place already or have a reservation. Those without a special concession are happy to accept that anyone who isn't a Jehovah's Witness will be destroyed, and the remainder, as true Christians, will inherit a perfect earth devoid of everyone but Jehovah's Witnesses.

(Just writing that confirms to me the irrationality of it all).
Naomi is correct. They call it 'Paradise Earth' when surviving JWs will be reunited with the dead who will be raised from the grave.
Those revelations tie in exactly with what my cousin said after she left the CULT.
Conspicuous silence from Goodlife. Perhaps s/he is scanning their bible for loopholes.
What bothered me more about Locusts replies was the utter disbelief in what others had experienced - tantamount to accusing them of lying.
In terms of ostracising people, the JWs are not the worst of the bunch. Google Exclusive Brethren.
Yeah but I bet there are far more Joeboes than Exclusive Brethrens!
