makes sense doesn't it? the current building is falling down but if sold to developers it'd be worth billions as luxury apartments and the government wouldn't be saddled with the repair cost. plus if parliament were moved to a big shed warehouse site near the M6, it would be 100% more accessible to many more visitors, as well as being easy to get to for MPs and civil servants alike.

win win, surely?

Traipsing past a teller in a big room is a very antiquated form of voting anyway. It can be done remotely and electronically, more efficiently. A virtual chamber.
And most votes are a farce anyway with party whips making sure the result is a foregone conclusion.
Lots of government departments are already scattered about the country aren't they?

As far as the Palace goes, I just think we've sold off so much of our heritage for the sake of raising a few bob which then gets wasted ...
