I have a half of steel ring with a rubber thing which you "lick" ( think) then put it on the bathroom wall and screw tight the rubber thing onto wall and you can hang your towel. I have used before and the thing stayed on for maybe 4 months and then fell off - now it will stay overnight. I Don't want to glue it to the good tile - any help again. guys.

Not much you can do with it really jen. Sorry.
Is there anyone who can try to affix it for you in the normal way? You really need to make sure the sucker thing is pressed on properly and that the tightening is then done fully- it can be awkward if your grip isn't great. i had one in the shower that kept falling off but then I spent some time doing it properly and it has been on for months now. Mine is on glass though- maybe the tile needs to spotlessly clean or totally dry first.
But yours may have a small pinprick hole/tear which stops the sucker working. If so, a new one shouldn't cost much

wbm - you know those sets you buy for your soap. cup, toothbrushes - then this wire one - semi circle with a sticker for wall to hold your towel
give it and the tile a good clean, use only a little moisture and try again

like FF - I do polish off the wall then try - there have been times it has stayed on for months too. tbh because all other things are ok I would be loathed to buy a new one for that only one. Like this one as people will dry their hands on this on rather than my fancy with diamonds on it!!!
Question Author
have done all that quizzie not a big deal in my life LOL - but would like it done.

I have pulled out every single whatever from the hot press - you know keep, towels, bedding curtains pillow slips - I don't use half of them now and yesterday I was able to put on a king-size duvet on my own because the cover was extra extra light - I have only 3 of those and would like yo buy another 2-3 extra extra light. Arranging day!!! it will be short tho as I am throwing out. Giving to thrifty as the bedclothes are in excellent condition and of course washed and pressed.
I had one of those things, too, jennyjoan, and to begin with it stayed on the tiles for months, if not years. Then it began to fall off with increasing regularity. Somebody told me to clean the tile with surgical spirit to get rid of any greasiness, which I did, and it worked for a while but eventually I had to give up as the towels were constantly on the floor, with the cat or dog lying on them! A pity, because those wee sucker things are very handy, better than having to drill. I use the small ones for Christmas decorations on the windows.
Question Author
I wouldn't want to drill a hole into my tiles - will think of something else.
If you don't want to drill it maybe that glue is your only option.

thanks for that link Danny
How big is your bathroom? Mine is small and I use over the door hooks.
Question Author
don't like towels hanging on the back of doors - it is too untidy
My bathroom is very small and I have no luck with the suction pads either - I sourced a neat free-standing towel rail.

Managed to squeeze it in , does the job well and of course stays put.
