I need to clean my steam generator (iron) badly - there has been a light flashing off and on telling me now I need to clean it

There are no tubes supplied with it when I tried pouring with a kettle/drum (where water is held) - water went all over the place and of course couldn't reach inside. Any ideas please.

use a small jug instead

thanks mcfluff - can't explain but the jug doesn't seem to get to the "edges" inside the drum/kettle whatever. thanks anyway

I sorta good tube would be good but where would I find that. Am looking round the house seeing if I could down a bit of tubing - also tubing would need to be quite small.
What advice does the instruction manual give you for how to clean it?

When you say clean do you actually mean descale?
do you have a funnel?
if you can give us the make/model might be able to find instructions for you
My steam iron instructions advise me to fill the reservoir full, heat to max then ho;ld the iron over the sink and press the steam burst button about 6/8 times - supposed to clear the jets.
Should have added that I never store it flat or with water in. Mine is very easy to fill from the front either under a tap or with the pouring jug provided.

well, what I have done taken the drum/water off the machine completely and unscrewed the screw- took off the shower head and inserted the tube of that in the hole and am lettering water run as we speak. All other electricity is out of bath -
What?
Are you cleaning your shower or an iron?

steam generator like a massive iron - it is done with great success all the dirt has come out now.
