Ok Mr Smows confirmed he can get the 1st two weeks of October off. We want somewhere warm enough to swim and sunbathe, but we also like to be within walking distance of local restaurants/cafes/shops etc and even though we love all inclusive and will probably do that, we don't like to sit in the same complex for two weeks. Also l love boat trips as well.......
Not Turkey as have been there quite a few times and not Portugal as went there last holiday.
Any ideas ??

You may have to go a long way south.
Looking for a new holiday destination? Syria's tourism board thinks you should give them a try https://t.co/M1H61kmYxv— Sky News (@SkyNews) August 31, 2016
Gran Canaria
I visited Majorca for the first time in March of this year, the weather was beautiful, and I really enjoyed visiting there. The food was lovely, the people were very nice, and both my daughter and I agreed, it seems pretty much perfect for a holiday destination which is not too far as well.
Majorca is likely to be a bit chilly in October. So is most of Greece, unless you go to the far south such as Crete or Rhodes (Rhodes not recommended at present due to migrant problems).

The Canaries are your best bet.
I'd agree that anywhere in the Balearics will most likely not be warm enough even if it's sunny.Canaries, Malta, Cyprus or southern Greek islands are your best bet.

Hubby has now said oh ok why not Turkey! I've said are you mad but his logic is that we live in London and are just as likely to have trouble here as there. Not sure what to think tbh
No chance, I know life is short but I would not like it too short.
